Cindy Zimmermann

A 30+ educator with 30 years of experience in at-risk education. Cindy was the former executive director a KORE Academy in Lexington, the principal of Zebulon Pike Youth Services school, the assistant principal of the comprehensive Gateway High School, the founder of Mose Vines Preparatory School, and the district administrator for curriculum and instruction for 22 high schools under the Youth Connection Charter School umbrella. As the coordinator for the honors program at Orr High School, she began the AP program for the school. She was also the lead teacher at ASPIRA/Haugan Middle School in the Math and Science Academy.

Cindy loves teaching English, being goofy, and being around young people. Her belief that “ALL KIDS CAN LEARN AT HIGH LEVELS!” anchors everything she does. She has, for her entire career, helped students grow in reading and writing multiple levels each year.

If you look for Cindy outside of school, she is most likely swinging on her front porch while reading a good book.
